Feature And Follow Friday (31). - I'm A Featured Blog!

Feature And Follow Friday Is Hosted By Alison Can Read and Parajunkee.Com.
This week I'm fortunate enough to be one of the featured blogs (I'm very excited)!
Have a read of my Q&A and head on over to the other featured blog Books & Blossoms and make sure also to stop by and visit Alison and Rachel.
I don't mind how you follow whether it be by (GFC, Linky or Networked Blogs).
I'll follow back even if I already follow you I'll just use a different way of following.
Thanks and enjoy!

(WHEN DID YOU START BLOGGING?)
I only started blogging October of last year, I used to visit all these different blogs and one day I thought you know what, I love reading why don't I start a blog of my own.

(WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF BOOK BLOGGING?)
I love the fact that there are so many people interested in reading that are also reading the same genre's as I do, I'm the only person who reads in my house so it's nice to be able to communicate with people that share the same passion for reading that I do.

(WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK(S)?)
For anyone that visits my site during Feature Follow Friday most of the questions are answered with using my favourite series Twilight - Stephenie Meyer, the reason I got into the paranormal genre was because of Twilight, I also love Harry Potter - J.K Rowling, The Mortal Instruments - Cassandra Clare, The Black Dagger Brotherhood - J.R Ward I could go on and on.

(WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST THING THAT'S HAPPENED TO YOU BECAUSE OF BOOK BLOGGING?)
I think that there's a lot of things not just one, I love it when an author sends me a message asking me specifically whether I'd review a book for them, or people that want me to take part in blog tours it makes it even more special when it's a publisher asking you it makes me feel like I'm doing something right and I feel extremely grateful, when I started this blog I never expected it to go as well as it has especially since there are so many other blogs out there.
And all the people you meet while blogging is fantastic, but mostly it's just people care enough to leave comments on your posts, I think it's the best decision I've ever made starting up this blog.
Oh and one of the best things so far is being a feature on Feature Follow Friday!

Here is the weeks question, answer it in your post.
Q: If you could "unread" a book, which one would it be? Is it because you want to start over and experience it again for the first time? Or because it was THAT bad?
Ok I will probably have quite a few people disagreeing with me about this but the one book I would unread if I could would be "Lord Of The Rings - J.R.R Tolkien".
I really didn't like this book I found it boring and unfortunately I'm one of those people that has to finish a book, this is one case where I definitely thought the movie was way better than the book.

  1. I've never read that book but only because I'm honestly not interested in it. I haven't even seen the movies! Old follower.

  2. Congratulations on being featured - how awesome! It really is fun to book blog, thanks for sharing that info with us. I'm a little sad to hear you found the Lord of the Rings to be boring - I loved it and even read each book twice. Maybe I just had an amazing 8th grade teacher - she had us read The Hobbit together at the end of each class, showed us the 1st LOTR movie in class, and got the principal to let us see the second one in theaters for a field trip. Almost everyone from our class ended up reading the series afterward. It's now one of my favorites, right with Harry Potter.

I never have any interest in Lord of the Rings. I tried reading the Hobbit but didn't like it. I think I DNF. I agree with you. The movies were good! And Congrats on the feature.

I don't entirely disagree with you, I think Tolkein is an acquired taste and while I enjoyed the rings trilogy, the Hobbit was the head and shoulders above the rest for me!

I don't think I'll ever read LOTR, even though I do love the movies and probably should read them. But if it's a LOTR kind of night, I'd rather watch the movies, and if I want to read there are so many other books I'd want to read first. And like you, I have a hard time putting down books and not finishing them, even if I hate them. So I'd rather not invest the time at all.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm following you as well :-)

  24. Congrats on being featured! I appreciate your honesty with The Lord of the Rings. I thought it was over descriptive. I felt like there was just too much detail, too much history, like they had a song for every freaking rock or tree. I don't think it is bad, just not for me. It got easier as I read through the series and I really liked The Hobbit!

And isn't that the beautiful thing about all of us book bloggers? So many books to appeal to all of us in different ways. What's fabulous for me isn't going to be for someone else, and what they love, I might not. The diversity is one of my favorite things about this community...I love that we don't all have to love the same things!

  44. Hi, I'm a new follower. Congratulations on being featured. I can't disagree with your choice for "unread" book. J.R.R. Tolkien can be grueling to read. I like his work, but sometimes, well, obviously you know. The movies certainly streamlined his stories. I think I'd "unread" Faking 19, a book I had to read for a Adolescent Lit course in college -- it was horrendous.

  50. I loved The Hobbit, but am struggling with the LOTR trilogy. I've only managed to read the first book in the trilogy and have been trying to read book 2 for about a year. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Why? Two words: elf songs. Really just about the lamest, oddest thing. The odd interludes of breaking into (bad) song is enough to make it incomprehensible to me why this isn't universally loathed.

  71. I'm actually with you on this one (for the most part). I totally agree that the movies are better than the book. My love...no, my obsession with the movies encouraged me to pick up the books. But, I was so let down.

I read the Lord of the Rings trilogy when I was about 13 years old. Personally, I don't think I had the patience at that age to get through JRR Tolkein's writing. I want to give the trilogy a second chance though. I'm hoping I'll be able to appreciate LOTR now that I'm older. But, I'm hesitant to pick up the books because I struggled with them so much nearly 10 years ago. I want to unread the trilogy so my view on the series is no longer tainted. I just want to stop second guessing the series and just pick the books up again.
