Publication: November 27 2007
Publisher: Dell
Pages: 400
Genre: Paranormal Romance

With a dagger in her hand and vengeance on her mind, Darkhaven beauty Elise Chase prowls Boston’s streets in search of retribution against the Rogue vampires who took from her everything she cherished. Using an extraordinary psychic gift, she tracks her prey, well aware that the power she possesses is destroying her. She must learn to harness this gift, and for that she can turn to only one man—the deadliest of the Breed warriors, Tegan. No stranger to loss, Tegan knows Elise’s pain. He knows fury, but when he slays his enemies it is with ice in his veins. He is perfect in his self-control, until Elise seeks his aid in her personal war. An unholy alliance is forged—a bond that will link them by blood and vow—and plunge them into a tempest of danger, desire, and the darkest passions of the heart.
My Thoughts.
I was actually looking forward to this book as Tegan had intrigued me in the first two books, I wanted to know what made him so closed off to everyone.
We find out that he'd previously had a Breedmate 500 years before, she had been kidnapped by Rogues and tortured, assaulted and they turned her into a Minion before sending her back to Tegan, and we find he came close to bloodlust so doesn't trust himself to even drink from females.
The heroine is Elise who appeared in the previous book who's son was turned into a Rogue and was ultimately killed.
Tegan finds her being attacked by Rogues and saves her, he finds out she's been going around killing Minions as payback for her son.
Elise intercepts an old journal that is written in gibberish so Elise and Tegan travel to Berlin to ask the last remaining Odolf family member (another member of his family wrote the journal) what it means only to find he's a Rogue kept sedated and chained up in a 'rehab' facility.
Marek gets what's coming to him and we find out an Ancient has been hidden all these years.
You can just see the sparks between Tegan and Elise and was rooting for these two to get together and each get there happily ever after's.
I'm becoming a big fan of this series and cant wait to read the next one.
I give this book 4/5
